These days, instead of plays or performances, parents are increasingly seeking out educational and interactive exhibitions to enjoy with their children. Last year, children's exhibitions focused on art, science, and play were particularly popular. One such exhibition at the Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo was "GomGom and ChanChan," an interactive art exhibition where children could magnify artworks using microscopes and magnifying glasses.

"An amazing experience with my basketball-loving son! We're lucky to have such an exhibition in our country!!"

"Came here because my child loves basketball. Highly recommend visiting before the holidays end."

"Couldn't believe my eyes seeing all these sneakers and jerseys in one place."

"Time flew by at this incredible exhibition!"

On February 8, a new interactive exhibition opened at the Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo. It's a display where children can see the real-life items worn by sports heroes they've only read about in books. Truly a "Legends in Person" exhibition for children. The Eland Museum's "Greatest 75 Basketball Players Exhibition" features items telling the stories of the greatest players in NBA history, from Michael Jordan, the "Emperor of Basketball," to Kobe Bryant.

Interactive Zones Together

"My 9-year-old, obsessed with basketball, was thrilled! Thank you for such a fun exhibition!"

"My basketball-mad son found out about this and we came together. He loved it! Looking forward to the next season!"

The real reason moms and their kids flock to the unfamiliar exhibition of NBA heroes' memorabilia lies in the hands-on experience zones. Let's introduce what interactive zones the "Greatest 75 Basketball Players Exhibition" offers!

1. Docent Program

"Listening to the docent made learning about the behind-the-scenes stories of basketball shoes even more interesting."

For those unfamiliar with the NBA or basketball, participating in the docent program is recommended. It brings to life the behind-the-scenes stories of NBA heroes connected with the exhibits, making the exhibition even more vibrant. The docent program runs twice a day, at 2 PM and 5 PM, for about 30 minutes each session. Anyone can join if they enter at the right time.

2. THE BIG MEN

In "The Big Men" zone, you can compare the hand and foot sizes, height, and wingspans* of NBA players. Experience firsthand how LeBron James can easily grip a basketball with one hand through hand printing comparisons, and feel the immense size of Shaquille O'Neal's 400mm feet. Also, through Yao Ming's actual jersey, you can get a sense of the height and wingspan of this "Giant of Asia."

*Wingspan: The length from the tip of one hand to the tip of the other hand when arms are extended sideways.

3. Basket & AI Customizing Zone

That's not all. There's a "Basket Zone" where you and your children can try shooting hoops, and an "AI Customizing Zone" where you can design your own basketball shoes using AI. Just enter the design you want via text, and the AI crafts a unique pair of basketball shoes for you. Scanning a QR code lets you receive the designed shoes on your phone. The beautifully designed shoes can be viewed in 3D on a tablet, rotating 360 degrees for a comprehensive view.

Great Basketball Players

Before heading to the exhibition, knowing a bit about the NBA players can make your visit even more enjoyable. Let's introduce some of the star players you'll meet at the "Greatest 75 Basketball Players Exhibition"!

Michael Jordan(MJ)

Called the greatest basketball player (GOAT) in history, Michael Jordan's journey wasn't smooth from the start. As a child, Jordan was lazy, often scolded by his father. He loved sports but didn't become the star player he always dreamed of. Until high school, he was considered short for a basketball player (178cm) and was even cut from the high school team. This setback deeply wounded Jordan's pride. However, the frustration from this failure became his biggest motivation. Jordan vowed to show his true abilities, practicing with determination. Ultimately, he overcame this failure, earning a scholarship to the University of North Carolina and opening the door to his NBA career.

Kobe Bryant

Known as a basketball fanatic who surpassed Jordan, Kobe Bryant was famously trained by coach Phil Jackson, who said, "Kobe modeled his game on Jordan but surpassed him in training attitude." Known as a "practice worm," Kobe's training intensity was extraordinary. From high school to becoming an NBA star, he was the first to arrive and the last to leave, practicing over 16 hours a day. He tested movements by playing 1-on-1 games against bench players until winning 100 times and finished practice by making 1,000 shots before each game. He also analyzed his play by watching videos during halftime and started serious training after the lights went out post-game.

LeBron James

At 39, LeBron James is still an active NBA player after more than 20 years, rewriting the record for NBA's all-time leading scorer as "King James," regardless of his age. LeBron's long tenure as an elite player is due to his impeccable "self-management." He meticulously maintains his condition with daily strength, stamina, and flexibility workouts, including weightlifting, yoga, and Pilates. LeBron's self-management extends beyond training. He strictly manages his rest, filling his day with a clean and balanced diet of salmon, chicken breast, and salad, sleeping by 10 PM for 9 hours, and taking a 1-2 hour nap when he can't get enough rest.

Stephen Curry

Nicknamed the "Baby-Face Assassin," Stephen Curry changed the strategic landscape of the NBA with his powerful 3-point shots. Despite his current fame, Curry was not initially noticed in the NBA. His height of 188cm was considered short for a basketball player, and he was not thought to have outstanding athletic abilities. Fans even mocked Curry's gameplay, saying, "I could do that too." Curry didn't succumb to external perceptions and focused on his one strength. He practiced more persistently than anyone to reliably make shots from anywhere on the court, moving continuously around the court, inside and outside the 3-point line, making over 1,000 shots. To improve his accuracy, he even practiced with smaller-than-standard hoops.

The "Greatest 75 Basketball Players Exhibition" runs from February 8 to March 17 at the Hyundai Department Store in Pangyo, 10th floor, Topaz Hall. This is the first domestic exhibition of the great star players who have written NBA history! Why not feel the heat of the NBA court with your children during this opportunity?
